ArtsEd Alumna Stars Opposite Lenny Henry in Educating Rita
2010 acting graduate Lashana Lynch is currently performing the title role in Willy Russell’s Educating Rita at Chichester Festival Theatre. The play follows the blossoming friendship between weary university lecturer Frank and plain speaking hairdresser Rita. Lashana has received high praise from the industry for her portrayal of the feisty Liverpudlian;
“the wonderful Lynch has us rooting wholeheartedly for Rita.” Evening Standard
“Russell’s play really belongs to Rita and this production uncovers a potential star in Lashana Lynch.” The Guardian
“there’s an exuberance and vitality about her performance that ensures Frank is not the only person captivated. From her first appearance, almost literally bursting through the door, hers is a performance of some verve.” What's On Stage
Everyone at ArtsEd would like to wish Lashana many congratulations on this fantastic achievement!
