ArtsEd Youth Theatre

If you are 15+, love performing and would like the opportunity to put on a piece of new writing in a professional theatre then ArtsEd Extra Youth Theatre is the project for you!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Youth Theatre for young people!

This year we will be part of Connections, the National Theatre’s flagship youth project. Every year they commission ten playwrights to create work especially for young people. The plays are then produced by youth groups and schools across the country before culminating in final performances as part of the Connections Festival in April 2022.

ArtsEd Youth Theatre members will experience the fascinating process of creating a brand new piece of work from start fo finish, from auditions right through to the final performances.

We are delighted to have the Lyric Hammersmith as our partnership theatre for our first season, where our company members will perform our chosen play, Chat Back by David Judge.

Auditions (in a workshop style) are free and will take place at ArtsEd on Saturday 20th November 2021

If you are chosen for the project there will be a charge to become a member of the Youth Theatre, which will be approximately £180. We are able to offer bursaries that cover the whole fee. Come along to the auditions and we’ll tell you more then.

ArtsEd Youth Theatre will meet on Saturday afternoons, with the first session on Saturday 27 November 2021, then:

  • December 4
  • January 15, 22, 29
  • February 5, 12
  • March 5, 12, 19, 26
  • April 2, 9, 23
