"SUMMER 2019- ArtsEd On The Road" - The Greatest Showman (7 -10) (WK1)

In the musical world 2018 was undoubtedly the year of The Greatest Showman. It has become one of the biggest hits of all time. It has been taken to the hearts of the young generation and dominates the YouTube channels of choirs and youth groups around the world.

The Greatest Showman is undoubtedly one of the biggest movies of 2018 and possibly of all time.

Due to reasons that should be obvious by now (the catchy songs, the upbeat tone, the relentless pace, the cast, its uniqueness as an original live-action musical, its status as an adult movie that kids could enjoy, etc.), the film had the best run for a wide opener since James Cameron’s Titanic 20 years before.

Work is progressing on bringing the stage version to Broadway, its success will be to keep it close to the film and not to tamper with it.  So before it opens on Broadway we have 5 days in Acton to do our own inspired version of “The Greatest Showman”.  We will be using elements of the film and songs to create our very own “Greatest Show”.

So if you would like to be part of this exciting project sign up quickly as places are limited.

As PT Barnum found that he needed to move to a new venue when his theatre was burnt down, we at ArtsEd too are moving and taking our show to a new venue.  Not because of fire but of a new building that is being erected on the ArtsEd campus in CHiswick.  But as they say "The show must go on!" and so it will in Acton:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl - A new adaptation for the stage.

When Willy Wonka decides to let five children into his chocolate factory, he decides to release five golden tickets in five separate chocolate bars, causing complete mayhem. The tickets start to be found, with the fifth going to a very special boy, called Charlie Bucket. With his Grandpa, Charlie joins the rest of the children to experience the most amazing factory ever. But not everything goes to plan within the factory.
