Student Welfare and Support
The pastoral team is committed to the well-being and development of each pupil as they progress through the school.
Tutor groups meet three times a day, during which time pupils plan their homework, discuss current affairs, talk over their day with their tutor and work through a PSHE programme. In Years 10 and 11 this time is also used to discuss Further Education options.
Pupils are both self-aware and appreciative of teachers and mentors who, in turn, show real commitment to the welfare and education of the pupils.ISI Inspection Report 2011
The PSHE programme is designed to develop pupils’ emotional intelligence, encourage their independence as well as providing them with the practical skills they will need in adult life.
Within tutor groups, pupils form close friendships and establish supportive relationships with their tutors.
