Caroline trained at ArtsEd herself, before working as an actress both in England and Australia for several years. She began directing plays on the London Fringe, before joining the BBC Drama Department, where she worked extensively for many years on single dramas, series, children’s dramas and comedies. She then trained on the BBC Directors Course and went on to direct for the BBC, Pearson, Zenith and Carlton. Her credits include, Absolutely Fabulous, Two Pints of Lager, Byker Grove, EastEnders, Family Affairs, Doctors and Nurses, Grange Hill, The Bill, People Like Us, Chambers, Pig Heart Boy, To Play The King (House of Cards series), amongst many others. She also formed and ran her own Video Production Company, ‘Lightning Pictures’, writing and directing video dramas for Cambridge University Press.
She has been teaching a wide range of Acting techniques, Screen Performance, Audition Technique classes and Working with Actors for Directors for over 30 years.
Caroline has been the Head of Film and Television at ArtsEd for two years but has been a tutor at the school for nine years, teaching Screen Performance to 1st, 2nd and 3rd year Acting students, 3rd year MT students and MA students. She now specializes in teaching 2nd year multi camera comedy, directing the Graduate Showreels and producing the Original Screenplay films. She has an MA in Screenwriting and works closely with new writers to develop short film scripts for this exciting new project.
