LAMDA Private Exams
Verse and prose
When preparing for a Verse and Prose LAMDA exam the student will explore different poetry and literature. They will learn the techniques such as rhythm and rhyme and learn how to use different modulations so the words jump off the page! After the student has performed their work there will be a short interview with the examiner about the pieces.
These lessons are an amazing opportunity for students grow in confidence and learn teamwork skills, time management and is a chance for students to learn and appreciate theatre and poetry in a fun, creative way.
This exam can be taught as a solo class or as a small group (6 max).
In a private acting class we will work closely with the student to pick monologues that I feel they can perform to the best of their ability. We will explore the technical aspects of theatre such as stagecraft, projection, and modulation and will also explore different ways to find a character – for higher grades this will be using practitioners like Stanislavski. This is a great way for a student to be creative and learn about different plays and playwrights including Shakespeare!
There will be a short interview with the examiner about the pieces and how you explored the character. This is something that is going to be so helpful to the students as a transferable skill into their future life.
This exam can be a solo monologue or a pair (duologue).
