Day School Admissions

Open Evenings & Visits

We encourage all prospective pupils to come and visit. Our September Open Evening gives you the chance to see our current students perform in the wonderful Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation Theatre, meet staff and find out about the exciting developments to our training facilities that are currently underway.

Or, you can just book a visit below and come and see everyone in action during the day.

We have two deadlines for admission in September 2020:

    • for auditions on Friday 13 December 2019
  • Friday 31 January 2020

Admissions Overview

We audition everyone who applies to ArtsEd. The majority of pupils join the school in either Year 7 or 12, although we also welcome pupils into Years 8, 9 and 10. When possible, we encourage school movers to join us in Year 9, when we start the curriculum for some of our key GCSE courses.

Prospective pupils spend a day in the school with the other applicants, allowing them to get a taste of life here at the same time as we get to know them. Our staff are very warm and welcoming, and make the day as enjoyable as possible. Everyone takes part in the following:

  • ice-breaking sessions
  • vocational skills workshops
  • written tests in English and Maths
  • an individual audition
  • an interview with a senior member of staff (to which parents are invited)

References from the applicant’s current school and past school reports are also taken into consideration.

Overseas Applicants
The UK government is reviewing the systems through which overseas students from non-EU countries can study in the UK. We are currently taking advice from the UK Borders Agency as to how to proceed, which may cause a delay in the processing of your application to study at ArtsEd. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
