Day School Admissions

Open Evenings & Visits

We encourage all prospective pupils to come and visit.  Joining us for our Open Evening is the best way to get a real sense of the energy and vibrancy of our unique school.  You will be shown around by our year 7 tour guides (who better to answer questions about day-to-day life at ArtsEd), meeting with staff, and enjoying a performance by current students in our beautiful Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation Theatre.

This year’s Open Evening is on Wednesday 28 September from 6pm and you can book your place here.

If you are unable to come to the Open Evening, then get in touch to arrange a visit at a convenient moment. Spending just an hour in our Chiswick home will quickly convey the energy, engagement and positivity that is at the heart of the ArtsEd experience.

If you have any questions about admissions or the audition process outlined below, please do not hesitate to send an e-mail or give us a call.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Admissions Overview

We audition everyone who applies to ArtsEd throughout the year. The majority of pupils join the school in either Year 7 or 12, although we also welcome pupils into Years 8 and 9. As we start the curriculum for some of our key GCSE courses in Year 9, we are unable to accept applications for Year 10.

Prospective pupils spend a day in the school with the other applicants, allowing them to get a taste of life here, as we get to know them. Our staff are very warm and welcoming, and make the day as enjoyable as possible. On the audition day, everyone takes part in the following:

  • ice-breaking sessions
  • vocational skills workshops
  • written tests in English and Maths
  • an individual audition
  • an interview with a senior member of staff (to which parents are invited)

References from the applicant’s current school and past school reports are also taken into consideration.

Applications will open on Thursday 1 September 2022.

We have two audition days and two separate deadlines for Year 7 entry in 2023.

Thursday 15 December 2022

Deadline for applications: 30 November 2022

Friday 10 February 2023

Deadline for applications: 31 January 2023
