ArtsEd’s first Bursary Appeal was launched in May to provide talented students with the vital support needed to continue their training. The Appeal continues efforts towards the goal that no young person with the talent and aspiration to study at ArtsEd should be deterred by financial worries.
Need for financial support increased sharply during the first few months of the pandemic. In September 2020 more students than ever were supported by the ArtsEd Bursary Fund. Demand has continued to rise throughout this academic year, with many students and their family members losing work due to the extensive restrictions and lockdowns.
ArtsEd Alumna and supporter Cherlie Lunghi, shared why ArtsEd’s Bursary Fund is essential:
“In the good old days, a generous government grant afforded me the precious opportunity of becoming a student at ArtsEd. Without financial help this would have been impossible.
A young person can have the necessary talent and work ethic, but without the funding to nurture such gifts, their full potential and their dream may never come to fruition. The ArtsEd Bursary Fund ensures that there is support for these promising young students.”
We were delighted to receive donations totaling £5,000 from supporters across the ArtsEd community. Thanks to a matched funding pledge from a generous donor, our total now stands at £10,000. This fantastic amount will provide vital support and have a transformational impact on the lives of students.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Bursary Appeal by donating or sharing the campaign. We are incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm and support we received, particularly at this time.
Donations are always welcome and go directly to our gifted students – find out more here.
