Blister by Laura Lomas

A tense relationship drama which examines how the effects of one moment can ripple through a galaxy of lives.

An ordinary summer’s day. Liam is about to make a decision he will spend a lifetime regretting. One day. One mistake. Seven futures sent spiralling.

From service stations to sea fronts, Blister explores the limits of forgiveness and the tragic permanence of trauma.

Content warnings: Blister contains strong language, violence, description of violence, and themes of death, grief, mental health issues and abuse and alcohol abuse, as well as simulated blood, flashing lights and loud noises.

The Unreturning by Anna Jordan

A Northern British coastal town. Three young men are coming home from war.

Their stories, set at different times over a hundred years, are beautifully interwoven in Anna Jordan’s The Unreturning, a play that explores the profound effect that war has on young people’s lives, and asks – what does coming home really mean? What is home? And when experience has shattered you into a million pieces, will home help to put you together again, or treat you as an ugly truth it does not want to confront?

Content warnings: The Unreturning contains strong language, descriptions of war, violence and violent death, references to suicide, sexual references, racism, and depictions of violence, PTSD, drug and alcohol abuse, and grief, as well as simulated blood, flashing lights and loud noises.

Running time: 2 hours and 35 minutes including interval.
