ArtsEd’s Musical Theatre Senior course is the perfect week of classes for anyone interested in this exciting area of the performing arts.

Musical theatre performers do it all – sing, dance, act… and at the same time. If you’re looking to become a ‘triple threat’, this course is a great place to start. Get a taste of what it’s like to be a musical theatre performer from expert professionals who are all working in the industry right now!

Students on this course work alongside ArtsEd staff and expert professionals for a fun-filled week dedicated to musical theatre skills training.

You’ll improve your performance ability and technique through learning new skills and exploring different styles. This course covers a lot!

These are your morning classes.

The afternoons are spent working as part of an ensemble on song and dance routines (and scenes) from a variety of different shows.

These numbers will then be performed at the end of the week to family and friends – a chance to show off your new skills!

This course is aimed at those performers with some previous experience who want to improve their confidence and skills. Your teachers will encourage you to be the best you can be, and will challenge you if you have a high level of ability.

Beginners are also very welcome! You don’t need to have all the skills in order to benefit from this course as our teachers will guide you through every exercise. Your confidence will improve throughout the week, and all lessons are taught in a safe and encouraging environment.

This course is ideal for anyone who loves musical theatre and wants to learn and improve their skills.

Acting Fundamentals (16+ yrs): Easter 2025

Make a Movie 14-16: Easter 2025

Is your teen a budding film star? Or maybe they see themselves behind the camera?

On our fun-packed Movie Makers course, participants work in front of and behind the camera. Our highly skilled tutors lead a week to remember as participants learn all about TV and Film as well as getting the chance to flex their creative muscles. As well as acting sessions, participants get a taste of life on set, learning about camera equipment and the roles of the crew. The week includes shooting self-tapes, duo and a group scene, watching and analysing rough cuts by the end of the week.

This course is perfect for beginners as no previous experience is necessary. All you need is your imagination. Those with previous acting experience, or skills in filmmaking, will be encouraged to improve and develop their skills and everyone will have fun collaborating together to create a unique experience. West End Week Senior (16+ yrs): Easter 2025

Do you want to take your musical theatre skills to the next level? Then this is the course for you.

Get a taste of life in the musical theatre industry from professionals who are performing in the West End right now! Experts in singing, dancing and acting, our friendly and experienced tutors are true ‘triple threats’.

Participants will be encouraged to develop their skills and challenge themselves in a supportive and encouraging environment.  You don’t need to be a superstar performer already, you just need to have the energy and enthusiasm to give it you all and get stuck in.

Every day is different, with two song and dance routines to learn each day, with different performers from the West End. You will be learning original choreography, so be prepared for a challenge! But remember, this course is all about developing your skills and improving your confidence, so don’t worry if you are quite new to it all!

By the end of the course you will have:

All at the same time as making new friends and sharing your passion for musical theatre!

Aspiring performers experience the best of the West End on this course! Our teachers work to an industry standard, recreating ensemble numbers from current and past West End productions.

Drama (14-16 yrs) Spring Term

Drama (14-16) is a unique (and fun!) mix of Stage Acting and Acting for Camera over 3 hours. Young people learn about each in equal measure as the sessions are split 50/50, just like the BA Acting degree students here at ArtsEd!

Skills and techniques are developed, and confidence, built through games, activities, and projects that encourage learning and teamwork.

Each class lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes with a 20 minute break in between.

Parent/Carer Information:

Students should wear comfortable clothing they can move around in and soft shoes or trainers. Please bring a bottle of water and a snack (strictly no nuts).

Please note: If you would like your child to be in a group with their friend please include their full name when booking. We cannot change groups once they have been formed.

 

Musical Theatre (14-16 yrs) Spring Term

Musical Theatre (14-16) is a 3-hour session where young people build their skills and confidence through lessons in Singing, Dance and Acting/Drama.

Participants learn routines, songs, and scenes from Musicals to develop their ‘triple threat’ potential. We introduce students to all three disciplines and focus on developing their core skills in communication, confidence and teamwork. Each class lasts 50 minutes with a 10 minute break in between.

Parent/Carer Information:
Students should wear comfortable clothing they can move around in and soft shoes or trainers. Please bring a bottle of water and a snack (strictly no nuts).

Private Lessons

ArtsEd EXTRA offer private lessons with ArtsEd tutors in dance, singing and acting. These are currently available both face-to-face and online.

These classes are designed for students wanting to prepare for an audition, developing technique and/or building confidence. Previously students that have had private tuition have gone on to gain a place in our full time day school, sixth form or degree courses as well as numerous other performing arts institutions.

LAMDA

We also offer LAMDA tutoring as part of our Saturday programme. These will be taking place online.

LAMDA exams are about achievement – recognising and rewarding the endeavours of each individual – but they are also about empowerment. Our ultimate aim is to provide all people with the opportunity to develop the life skills they need to be a success: attributes such as self-confidence and the ability to communicate clearly and present ideas.

At the heart of LAMDA examinations is the recognition that the qualifications are for everyone. Across the globe, the examinations unite learners of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and cultures in enthusiasm for the English language and a desire to develop skills for life.
