Is your child destined for the stage? Always creating stories? Putting on plays in the kitchen?

Or perhaps they’re super curious and creative with a wonderful imagination. If your answer is yes, then we’ve got just the course for their Summer break.

Our Play in a Week course is a fun-packed five days. Participants flex their creative muscles, make new friends and experience the joy of the performing arts. Our expert tutors guide and support them  as they create a play from scratch, sharing it on the last day with family and friends!

The course is suitable for complete beginners, no experience is necessary, whilst those with some previous performing under their belt will be encouraged to develop and improve.

Our tutors create a warm, collaborative, and inclusive environment where children are encouraged to be themselves, make new friends, and embrace their creativity.

Now, places everyone…

During this fun packed three day course the students explore each of the three disciplines we offer here at ArtsEd: Screen Acting, Stage Acting and Musical Theatre:

Screen Acting: techniques and skills for performing on screen and and introduction to the technical aspects of film making.

Stage Acting: focusing on improvisation and character work.

Musical Theatre: students will work with a Musical Director and a Choreographer to learn a song-and-dance number from a popular West End musical.

Jukebox Musical (7-10 yrs)

Posted on: December 18th, 2023 by Marketing User

If musicals make your child’s eyes light up then don’t miss this course!

Some of the most popular and well-loved musicals on at the West End are ‘jukebox’ musicals, featuring popular hits, think Mamma Mia (ABBA), 9 to 5 (Dolly Parton), We Will Rock You (Queen), and The Bodyguard (Whitney Houston).

On our Jukebox Musical course, participants work with a team of top industry professionals to create their very own piece of theatre, learning songs and dances from various genres to create something that is all their own.

Throughout the week, participants weave together some of their favourite songs, developing characters and a story to produce a truly original piece, created by the group, led by our expert and friendly tutors.

The course includes technique sessions in all three core skills; singing, dancing and acting, alongside the development and rehearsal of the show, which is shared with family and friends at the end of the week. A chance to show off new skills and debut a truly original show!

Participants develop their creative skills, in storytelling and group work as well as performance.  Along the way they will make new friends, share their passion for all things musical, and grow in confidence as they develop a brand new piece of theatre.

No previous experience is necessary, just a love of musicals and a willingness to give new things a try! Beginners will be supported every step of the way in a warm, collaborative and fun-filled environment, whilst more experienced performers will be encouraged to challenge themselves and improve their skills.
